“So how long have got to stay ear?” Melody then asked.
“I don’t know. Scootie is good, but it’s going to take time.” Jack replied. “I guess while your here will have to help you blend in, make up a story too. Maybe you can be my cousin? Or a pen friend that has come to stay?”
“You still have pen friends?” Melody asked, thinking back to her childhood pen friend, a young boy who had lived in Southampton. She supposed he was probably dead now.
“Yeah, although, they’re not really pen friends. Just... people we message online. On that thing.” Jack said, pointing to the blue screen behind Melody. She turned again, going back to the computer.
“How?” She asked, curious.
“Want me to show you how to surf the web?” Jack asked in return, pushing himself up on his elbows. Melody looked back and simply nodded, so with a grin Jack got down onto his knees and went to her side, his height putting them almost at eye level. As Jack taught her about technology, Melody did her best not to look at his stupid pretty face.
